CEAB - Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology Abstracts

Content

Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology Abstracts contains the
world's largest collection of information aimed at chemical
engineers and biotechnologists.

Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Abstracts (CEABA), covers
the processing of chemicals, in large or small quantities. The
processing can involve chemical reactions, the mixing or
separation of chemicals, heating or cooling, and the transport
of liquids, solids, or gases. The effects of the size of the
operation, the physical and other properties of the substances
involved, the nature of the equipment used, corrosion and safety
factors, and environmental consequences are also covered.
Theoretical chemical engineering, laboratory studies and
biotechnology are also included.

The database covers both the theory of chemical processing and
laboratory experimentation to evaluate theories or to provide data
and industrial practice, economics, equipment, instrumentation,
corrosion studies and prevention, environmental and personal
safety factors.

The abstracts are written with chemical/process engineers or
biotechnologists, not chemists, in mind and this is reflected in
the content.

USE CEAB to answer questions like:
- what information has recently been published on butterfly
valves used in chemical processing?
- has anything been published on jet mixing involving a liquid
or liquids; one of the phases can be a gas?
- what has been written on safety of plant using chlorine?

Sources:
The database is produced byThe DECHEMA (Frankfurt, Germany).

Over 500 primary-technical journals are covered. Books,
biotechnology patents, press releases and technical reports are
also covered. Geographic coverage is worldwide and includes full
articles, reviews, technical items and some book reviews.

Abstract
The Catsymp-15 (15th National Symposium on Catalysis) and the
IPCAT-2 (Second Conference of the Indo-Pacific Catalysis
Association)conferences were held at Pune (India) on January
23 - 25, 2001 (385 participants from 30 countries). Scientific
contributions were in the form of 89 lectures and 120 posters.
This special issue of 'Molecular Catalysis A' comprises 32 of the
papers presented at the conferences.
Topics of interest are: design, production, and
characterization of catalysts (15 papers), selected reactions
(11 papers), and kinetics, reaction mechanisms, and modelling (6
papers). 8 of the papers are to be abstracted in VtB.
