Content


Ei Compendex offers significant coverage of worldwide technical
literature. It is of value to all those engaged in engineering
and related disciplines, including biotechnology, mathematics
and management science.

Broad subject categories include:

- Civil

- Computer
- Electrical
- Chemical
- Industrial engineering

Both bibliographic and conference material is included.
Ei Compendex combines the two earlier databases COMPENDEX
and ENGINEERING INDEX ENGINEERING MEETINGS.

Sources:
Some 4,500 primary sources are monitored for articles of
technological importance. Articles are drawn from journals,
transactions, reports and special publications of engineering
societies, scientific and technical associations, government
agencies, universities, laboratories, research institutions and
industrial organisations; proceedings of conferences, symposia
and colloguia; monographs; standards; seminars and reports.
Sources are from 40 countries and in 26 languages. 70% of
originals are in English. About 50% of citations are drawn
from non-US publications. All conferences held since 1982 are
indexed in depth. Individual papers as well as conference
review records are included.

Conference papers for the years 1982-1984 do not contain
abstracts. The Engineering Index Monthly is an exact print
equivalent of Ei Compendex, beginning with January 1989.

AB - Abstract:
HESPERIA is an information system for helping in the
collaborative research of a multidisciplinary group in the
paleoclimatology field. While there exist international
databases and information systems that provide long term
storage of georeferenced data, they cannot be used during
the research stage, since they are limited to published data.
The system is designed to manage a collaborative project,
keeping track of the shared seabed samples, providing visual
analysis and giving the possibility of using partial results.
The basic technical structure corresponds to a three tiered
client/server architecture that assures scalability and eases
long-term maintenance requirements. 6 Refs.
