The CSEM database is the electronic version of the Chem Sources
Chemical and Trade Name directory. Displayable information
includes chemical names, CAS Registry Numbers, and Company links
to the CSCO database. CSEM is derived from the CHEM SOURCES
database (www.chemsources.com) from which the hardbound
directories, CHEM SOURCES-USA (since 1958) & CHEM SOURCES-
INTERNATIONAL, are printed. CSEM is a companion database with
CSCO, a directory database containing addresses, emails, URLs,
phone numbers, etc., for the companies that manufacture and
supply the products contained in CSEM. CAS Registry Numbers,
chemical names, classifications of trade name products, and
names of suppliers are searchable.
The CSEM database covers more than 620,000 producers within
302,000 chemical names.
Use CSEM to find:
- which companies either produce or distribute acetic acid?
- what is the chemical name for CAS registry number 30525-89-4
- who supplies chemical 30525-89-4?
- which companies supply bulk quantities of Acethydrazide
phridinium chloride?
- what chemicals does the Aldrich Chemical company (code ALHUS)
supply in Switzerland?

Searching CSCO/CSEM:
Use CSEM to locate suppliers of a particular chemical by searching
for standard chemical name or registry number. Then use ..MAP to
find the contact details of the suppliers in CSCO.
Search CSCO directly for tradenames.
TI Title (Chemical name):
Chemical names are double posted, you can use the ROOT command to
locate names, search for just a fragment of the name, or use the
whole name if you know the standard form.
Update date:
All documents have the same update date because the database is
reloaded every year.
