The online compendium of Current Contents(R).
The full contents page of every leading journal and book in the
sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities world-wide is
reproduced in CTOC.
Current Contents Search(r) corresponds to the hard copy Current
Contents collections: Business; Clinical Medicine; Life
Sciences; Engineering, Technology & Applied Sciences; Agriculture,
Biology & Environmental Sciences; Physical, Chemical and Earth
Sciences; Electronics & Telecommunications; Social & Behavioral
and Arts & Humanities. You can easily scan the contents
of a particular book or journal issue, evaluate unfamiliar
titles before subscribing, or set up alerting services
to give you the contents pages of a selection of journals.
The full bibliographic details of every entry in the contents pages,
plus an abstract when available, are provided in the sister database
CBIB. Formerly combined in one database, these two elements -
contents pages and bibliographic records - are now separated, making
it easier to search and retrieve the required information.
Use CTOC to:
- read the contents page of the book 'Lectins', published by Taylor
& Francis in 1995
- scan the contents pages of the last 6 issues of the arts magazine
'Apollo'
- find the various parts of the CRC Series in Comparative
Immunology, and print their contents pages
- read the contents page of the March 96 issue of Acta Psychiatrica
Scandinavica and order document delivery from the database
producer

Further information from other ISI databases: When you need the
full bibliographic record for an item found in CTOC, print the GA
(Genuine Article number), and search this in CBIB. If using Windows
software, you can copy and paste the GA number from one database to
the other, or you can ..MAP, or just re- type it. The GA number
alone will give you all the records for this source - in the example
above 16. If you want just one specific record, use the 15-digit
number given at the end of each item - this forms the accession
number of the record in CBIB. Similarly, you can use the GA to
retrieve the same group of records from SciSearch, Social SciSearch
and Arts & Humanities Search: you may want to do this to see the
cited references (CBIB shows only the number of them).
CC - Current Content Edition:
From January 1999, the volume and issue number of the Current
Contents Edition in which the reference can be found is no longer
available in the CC paragraph.
