   The Derwent Drug File Backfile provides an index to the world's
   literature on drug research and usage from 1964 to 1982.
   
   Information on all aspects of drug research including drug
   synthesis, drug screening, development, formulation of the final
   product and clinical use can be found in DDBF. Literature from over
   40 countries in 24 languages is indexed in the Derwent Drug File,
   including Australia, China, Denmark and Venezuela.
   
   Each scientific and medical paper included in DDBF is extensively
   indexed with a separate indexing 'sentence' for each drug discussed
   in the original paper. The unique indexing also encompasses
   biological and chemical matters of interest and structure/activity
   data, adverse effects, drug interactions, therapy, and substructure
   codes.
   
   DDBF will be of particular interest to pharmaceutical researchers,
   pharmaceutical chemists, information specialists and pharmacists
   needing to search the complete drug literature.
   
   Use DDBF to:
   - research synthesis and toxicological testing of novel
     benzodiazepines
   - find papers on clinical trials of antirheumatics in the elderly
   - locate research on metronidazole interactions with oral
     contraceptives
   - study the pharmaceutical (galenical) development of
     sulphamethoxazole
   
   Sources:
   Approximately 1150 scientific and medical journals are indexed in
   DDBF. A full list is available from the database producer.
