DEFR provides instant access to reports for approximately six
million European companies, many of them containing full financial
accounts.
DEFR contains full reports, many with full financials for European
companies of commercial significance - large and small, quoted and
non-quoted, public and private, from all sectors of industry and
commerce.
Reports continue to be updated for companies in the UK, Italy,
Ireland, Monaco, and San Marino.
Data for a further eight countries: Andorra, Belgium, France,
Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain remains
available but is currently not being updated (March 2009).
Most company records contain reference and financial information in
a consistent, standardised form which allows you to make easy
comparisons between companies in different countries.
The reference information includes: company name; trading address;
telephone and fax numbers; company history; senior management names
and job titles and other directorships; legal status; line of
business; bankers; shareholders; parent companies and subsidiaries.
The financial information includes the latest three years financial
comparatives in local currency and US Dollars; the Balance Sheet and
Profit & Loss account for the most recent year, also in local
currency and US Dollars; the company's nominal and issued capital;
and financial ratios.
Use DEFR to find:
- European food and drink manufacturers with sales greater than US$
10 million and a current ratio greater than 2
- companies in the UK with total assets greater than US$ 4 million
- Irish companies which have filed accounts later than 1992 and are
operating at a profit
- lowly geared Spanish and Portuguese companies involved in the
automotive industry, with more than 250 employees
- companies in Italy which bank with Banca Commerciale del Lavoro
