El sector de la telecomunicaciones tiene gancho, segun se
desprende del interes de varias sociedades por estar en
el capital de Euskaltel, compania del sector, accionista de
Retevision y que sera el responsable del servicio en el Pais
Vasco del segundo operador de telefonia basica. Mondragon
Corporacion Cooperativa (MCC), el Ente Vasco de la Energia (EVE)
y el grupo multimedia Comecosa, titular de un 25% de Telecinco y
de varios periodicos regionales, se han sumado a Iberdrola, Endesa
y la italiana Stet en su interes por entrar en el capital de
Euskaltel. Las posiciones futuras en el capital de
Euskaltel, hasta ahora controlada en un 60% por las cajas
vascas y en un 40% por el Ejecutivo de Vitoria, estan todavia
por definir. Lo que si esta claro es que la participacion de
Stet se situara en cerca de un 25% y que Retevision tendra un 3%
de Euskaltel, el mismo porcentaje que tendra la operadora vasca
en Retevision. Ademas, el Gobierno vasco reducira sensiblemente
su posicion hasta un 10% y le traspasara al Ente Vasco de le
Energia (EVE) o a Gas de Euskadi, una de las filiales del EVE.
Segun el diseno que se esta elaborando, las tres cajas vascas
(BBK, Kutxa y Vital) permaneceran como accionistas de referencia,
es decir que cualquier decision que se quiera tomar sobre
Euskaltel debera contar necesariamente con su beneplacito.
Euskaltel, que ayer celebro consejo de administracion en
Bilbao, debera ampliar en breve su capital en cerca de 12.000
millones de pesetas para ejecutar, antes del proximo 8 de agosto,
la compra de su 3% de Retevision. En esta primera ampliacion
no es necesaria la entrada de los futuros accionistas que
acudirian posteriormente a las ampliaciones de que se vayan
realizando. Los recursos conseguidos servirian para afrontar
las inversiones necesarias, unos 50.000 millones de pesetas,
para que el segundo operador de telefonia basica en el Pais Vasco
pueda ofrecer sus servicios en el ano 2000 al 80% de la poblacion
vasca.
Fuentes consultadas aseguran que tanto la BBK como la
Kutxa ecesitaran cerca de 13.000 millones de pesetas cada uno
para hacer frente a la compra de su particicipacion en Retevision
(3,5% tiene la BBK y otro tanto la Kutxa) y tambien para
acudir al desdoble en Euskaltel, una sociedad cuyo capital
social en la actualidad es de 200 millones de pesetas.
Euskaltel, que tambien ofrecera otros servicios como el
cable, comenzara a operar en otono en las tres capitales en
competencia con Telefonica.
