Content

Dun & Bradstreet Key British Enterprises and Corporate Financial
Performance together: the definitive guide to the UK's 50,000 top
companies

Dun & Bradstreet, the world's leading supplier of business
information, has combined two databases, the long-established Key
British Enterprises company directory with its more recent Corporate
Financial Performance.

This adds the latest three years' financial information to KBE's
comprehensive company directory on the 50,000 largest companies in
the UK. 40 items of information are provided for each company,
including many - such as markets, trade awards and Royal Warrants -
which are unique to KBE.

The new financial data includes turnover, export sales, pre-tax
profit, net worth, total assets, total fixed assets, current assets,
current liabilities, working capital, long-term debt, return on
capital, profit margin, current ratio and profit per employee.

Companies in every line of business may be analysed with DKBE - the
manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, financial and service sectors
are all covered, and this exceptional new one-stop information
resource for UK companies will be invaluable to management
consultants, financial analysts, marketing executives, researchers,
information brokers, sales, purchasing and information departments
and a great many others.

Use DKBE to
- locate the most profitable UK companies making computer hardware
last year
- monitor the performance of construction companies in the
South-West over the last three years
- discover which retailing organisations managed to get through
1991 without losses
- check the financial performance of companies reported to be at
risk of take-over
- find out the names of the bankers and auditors for the company
you are targeting

Sources:
DKBE is derived from questionnaires, telephone research and personal
communication in-house by business analysts and information
specialists, and verified against Dun & Bradstreet's extensive
central database.

Notes on DKBE

LESS THAN Limits:
When ..LIMITing on numeric data to LESS THAN numbers, remember first
to remove records with no figures available. For example if you are
seeking companies with fewer than 1,000 employees, add NOT EM=NA to
your search statement before ..LIMITing.

Some figures - like profit margins or return on capital - may show
negative (minus) amounts. These should be removed by adding, for
example, NOT PM=NEGATIVE as well as NOT PM=NA before ..LIMITing.

The numeric data to which these apply are shown in the list of quick
codes.

Database size:
Type DOCZ at any time to retrieve the total number of documents
currently in the database.

Automatic plural-search:
..SET PLURALS ON may be selected for this database

Guides:
D-S Guide to DKBE is published in the D-S Business manual, Berne;
